IMA Founder George J. Miko made significant contributions to both the certification/training process and implementation of MODAPTS within the automotive industry. In the 1980’s when Ford Motor Company sought to have a system that would eliminate the need to rely solely on stopwatch studies and performance rating of individual workers, George Miko helped to introduce MODAPTS.
Numerous predetermined time standards were reviewed, included methods MTM, MOST, Work Factor, and MODAPTS. George’s testing of MODAPTS at the Dearborn, Kansas City, and Wixom assembly plants confirmed that the standardized system produced approximately the same, and in some instances, duplicated standards using other time study methods. Ultimately MODAPTS ability to provide a common language understood by engineers, UAW (United Auto Workers) representatives, personnel, and others involved with operator workloads was the key decision.
IMA will forever remember George J. Miko and his part in the proliferation of MODAPTS around the world.
Husband of Kerry Pareja. Father of Carla Patricia and Sandra Marina. Stepfather of Alexander, Justine and Nicole Fernandez-Gatti. Brother of Roxana Patricia.
